Our Mission

We are convinced that God has raised the New Horizon to be a strong Hispanic Christian Reformed church. Our dream and vision is to be a church that efficiently announces the vision for the movement of plantation of churches in the Northeast of the United States. We envision a church through generations. However, to make this vision a reality we need to have our own building facilities.

Evangelism

We understand the great commission in Mathew 28 to preach the gospel.

The New Horizon is a young church that grew from 5 people (my family) 7 years ago and now we gather for worship over 100 people every Sunday.

We believe our main call is to reach the Hispanic population in this area, which is 60% Hispanic. These people come with little or no knowledge of the God of the Bible. Through our work and evangelization, we are helping to transform lives and families.

But we have been facing tremendous difficulties in our growth. We had to move to different locations three times in a short period of time, searching for an appropriate place to develop our work and mission.

Evangelism is not only on Sundays but all the time, so it is important to have a place available always, anytime.

Ministries and Growth

Right now, we have different ministries to engage the church with the community. It is through these ministries that many people are now in Christ and at the church.
We have new families that have come to Christ and now they are active members serving in our church.
 

Couseling ministry
Pastor Avila: "Couples from the community that have been at brink of divorce have become a healthy family through our counseling ministry. We urge to have a place where we can take care of families and provide counseling"

Community development ministry: More than 400 people are now better equipped for life through the ESL and computer classes. Space is our difficulty to do more education.
 

Challenge ahead and a challenging proposal

Nevertheless, we are frustrated because we do not have a place from where we can do ministry more efficiently.

We are a poor church but with a great potential. We have been able to generate finances to cover our budget. In spite of the economic poverty of our Hispanic community, God has blessed us with a faithful congregation and with the help of other churches we have in our saving account toward building 50,000. But this amount is not sufficient. We needed $200,000 more for a down payment of a place that fulfills the basic conditions for a visionary church. Parking, sufficient space to keep growing and for ministries

We do not feel alone, we know that God is with us and you are with us as well.
This is why we share this vision and blessing with you and for that reason I am here to let you know of our vision and call.
We will love to see you becoming a part of this work in the kingdom of God. We hope that in the love of God you can help us.
